Driving Under the Influence

Colorado law imposes harsh punishments for driving under the influence (DUI) and driving while ability impaired (DWAI), even for a first offense. If you have a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) between .05 and .08, you are presumed to be DWAI, and if you have a BAC over .08, you are presumed to be DUI. If your BAC is above .17, you may be subject to greater penalties.
